About Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic means in Latin: "to do by hand”. It is a natural, drug and surgery free approach to allowing the body to heal itself.
Our miraculous human body is controlled both directly and indirectly by the central nervous system: comprised of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves. Energy and nerve impulses flow from the brain to the body ensuring proper communication to cells, tissues and organs. Nerve impulses are sent back to the brain, in order to effectively regulate the entire body, much like a thermostat regulates temperature in your home.
If there is any blockage in this normal, healthy nerve flow, dysfunction in the body can result. Chiropractors understand that minor misalignments of the spinal bones can play a role in interference to the nervous system. Many times, these misalignments, termed subluxations, can choke off nerve transmission to any one of the 100 trillion cells in the body. Simple stress, like slips and falls, car accidents, sports injuries, computer deskwork and even childbirth can cause misalignments.
Chiropractic helps to find, correct and prevent subluxations in the body. As nerve function becomes improved, the body can restore health and normal function.
